This mid century glass bookcase/display case, was originally designed in the 1960's by the renowned British Furniture Manufacturer, Morris of Glasgow, from their Cumbrae Range. Not only did they manufacture and supply furniture for high end interiors such as British Embassies, but they were the suppliers of bespoke furniture for the Royal Ocean Liner, the QE2, on behalf of the Royal Family!
This super piece, with two height adjustable shelves and glass sliding doors has certainly stood the test of time.
We have brought this piece bang up to date with a thoroughly modern makeover.
As well as sanding the wood right back to bring out the lovely grain, we’ve added our signature stripes in dark blue mineral paint, together with the addition of new legs to give that extra bit of height. A super stylish complementary paper has been decoupaged to the back panel and varnished for protection.
The quality of the piece is superb, with exposed dovetail joints to the top and bottom and with sliding doors that open and close with ease, this superb piece will add a touch of retro glamour to any stylish home.
