We would like to introduce you to “Alf” - he’s a unique restored Art Deco drinks cabinet/bookcase/storage bureau. He started life as a writing bureau, but he’s moved with the times and now holds your favourite drinks, glasses, books, stationery - the choice is yours!
“Alf” is a very solid piece of furniture, with a dropdown door opening on to a small cupboard, there’s a drawer above and below is a cupboard with shelf. Both sides of the cabinet include 4 open shelving compartments, suitable to display glasses, ornaments or pot plants.
The whole piece has been stripped, sanded, primed and painted with 3 coats mineral paint in colour black. The interior of the two cupboards have been finished in mineral paint “Our Olive”, a lovely on trend olive green colour. The tops, cupboard front and dropdown door have been completely stripped, sanded and stained with both walnut and oak, with a funky bronze line to separate the two colours. The contrasting oak looks fantastic, it is enhanced beautifully by the two colour stains and Wise Owl Hemp Oil for added sheen and protection. The Fab and funky exposed oak detail has been added to each side to give that extra Wow factor and even the inside door of the cupboard has been decorated with a funky stripe to match!
The original brass knobs have been cleaned and polished together with the original hard-ware.
All in all, we think that “Alf” is a sophisticated and charming piece of history and will attract lots of attention in any stylish home.
